Construction Manager - Geothermal

The Construction Manager is responsible for managing day-to-day construction activities and progress including coordinating with project team, client and sub-contractor to ensure that the work is being done safely and correctly.

  • Ensure sub-contractors execute their works accurately in accordance to the approved shop-drawings, technical submissions and checklists;
  • Attend site meeting and resolve technical issue with main contractor or consultant;
  • Implement works safety, environmental requirements / procedure;
  • Implementation of Cost and Quality on site, and to ensure minimum re-works and adverse environmental impacts;
  • Demonstrate effective performance and leadership in achieving agreed safety behaviour and goals according to local and company standards including identifying project risks, training needs and support programs;
  • Ensure contracting partners comply with Safety, Health, and Environmental Management Plan;
  • Ensure that all work is completed in accordance with the Project Quality Plan;
  • Plan and manage project staffing, cost forecasts, determining priority actions, overhead budgets and fee plans and overall employee evaluations;
  • Frequent contacts with equivalent level managers and customer representatives concerning project and operational decisions, scheduling requirements, or contractual clarifications;
  • Conduct briefings and technical meetings for internal and external representatives;
  • Establish effective communications with the Client's field representative, the Project Manager and the Field Staff through discussions, meetings and such other arrangements as are required to maintain close working relationships;
  • Report regularly to Project Director on all activities and identify any existing or potential problems which may affect performance of the work;
  • Provide weekly and Monthly business unit reports;
  • Prepare management plans for construction execution, safety, environmental and industrial relations;


* Must have a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management from reputable University.
* At least 15 years experience in construction management preferably with at least 5 years experience in the geothermal sector;
* Fluent in English both oral and written.
* Must have been in a managerial role with strong experience power plant construction project, project management or in an industrial project construction.
* Strong Problem-Solving skills and ability to work in a challenging environment coupled with excellent planning and coordination.
* Must be self-driven, drive initiatives, accountable and responsible for all tasks relating to Project Management.
* Must be a people person with strong leadership skills and ability to manage contractors as well as outsourced partners in an orderly and timely fashion Good analytical and interpersonal skills. Able to work within tight schedules and deliver product in a timely manner.
* Good software literacy and experience with the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe, Outlook as a minimum requirement. Proven experience with the use of specialist software used for managing and reporting project progress (Microsoft Project or equivalent) would be an advantage.
* Must be willing to travel to project site.
