BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER - CHINA (FMCG)

This role will be responsible to develop China Market and other Asia market within a Multinational FMCG Company

Description

The Business Development Manager is responsible for:

  • Explore, identify, analyse and propose both medium and long-term market opportunities in North East Asia and SEA; identify, assess potential distributor(s) in different countries, and partner with appointed distributors and partners to drive sustainable growth.
  • Work closely with internal functions to ensure accuracy of forecasting, smooth operations until delivery of products to customers.
  • Stay up to speed with market trends, competitive landscape and keep stakeholders informed of the potential opportunities and risks and make necessary recommendations to optimise opportunities and mitigate risks;
  • Identify potential online platforms for Digital-Commerce as a key channel for growth (priority = China) and execute partnership with e-commerce partners
  • Meet the monthly, quarterly and annual targets by Brand/Category and country.

Profile

  • Fluency in English and Mandarin Chinese in both Verbal and Written
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree. Excellent commercial acumen.
  • At least 5 years of business development experience in FMCG industry in the Asia region, including China. Must have demonstrated success in the appointment and management of distributors, especially in China, to meet sales target.
  • Proven experience in working effectively in teams within the entire value chain of a business - from business development/ sales, marketing (NPD and activation in the market), commercial operations and supply chain. Strong understanding of and experience participating in Business Planning (S&OP) process
  • Experience in new business development (new products/ new brands/ new geography) is an advantage. Proven success in entering new markets and aggressively growing a business in a sustainable manner.
  • In-depth knowledge of FMCG business in Asia especially in China, and ability to provide insights through research and networking.
