GM Plant - Garment - Bandung

The GM Plant will be responsible to manage the end-to-end manufacturing operation to ensure all products of various brands and types are delivered on time and as per customer's quality requirement on daily tight schedules. He/she must have a hands-on approach - to be able to analyse and improve organisational processes, and work to improve quality, productivity and efficiency.

Our client is one of the leading garment manufacturers for global apparel brands that have multiple plants across Indonesia. Part of their continued growth in the apparel business, they are looking for a new General Manager Operations to lead one of their garment manufacturing plants in Bandung, Indonesia.


The GM Plant is responsible to lead, direct, monitor, and control the production floor in processes related to planning and preparation, production process, in order to ensure that entire processes and outputs aligned with established standard and achieve the quality and quantity target. The candidate must be commercially driven while at the same time have a hands-on approach to management of the plant operations - to be able to analyse and improve the plant manufacturing processes, efficiency and optimisation.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Manage daily production schedules to ensure on time, accurate and complete delivery of finished goods and that customer requirements are met
  • Responsible to manage the plant operation including Production Planning, Production, Quality, Maintenance, Warehouse, and HSE
  • Manage the operation within agreed KPIs
  • Analyse skill gaps and drive skill improvement planning for the manufacturing personnel
  • Lead the production team to improve the overall productivity and quality, control cost, reduce production lead-time and maintain a stable workforce
  • Lead Continuous Improvement (CI) projects to study flow production and improve production performance, output efficiency


The successful candidate must have a minimum of 10 years of experience in complex manufacturing and at least 5 years experience as Manufacturing Director / GM.

Other requirement include:

  • A minimum of Bachelor Degree in Engineering
  • Willing to be based in Bandung
  • Must have experience in six sigma and Lean manufacturing
  • Hands-on, strong leadership and technincal skills
  • Fluent in English
