This position will be based at Martabe Site and reports directly to the Metallurgical Improvement and Development Specialist.

The role of the Superintendent – Metallurgy Project Development is to provide support on all aspects of metallurgical assessments (and other related technical areas) for projects being considered by MPD/PTAR. Key focus areas include:

  • Providing metallurgy support in the studies (evaluation) and project phases to identify, test and confirm potential processing solutions for PTAR
  • Developing and managing test work programs as assigned by the MPD group
  • Assisting with project delivery and implementation of metallurgical projects within MPD, where required

Candidates for this role would be expected to have the following qualifications and experience:

  • Tertiary qualification in either Metallurgy or Mineral Processing
  • Desirable to have a post-graduate qualification in an applicable discipline
  • Minimum 10 years' experience gained in production metallurgical role within the resource sector
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in CIL/CIP gold processing and good understanding of sulphide flotation
  • Thorough knowledge of the methods, tools, raw materials and technology used in metallurgical processing
  • Exposure to managing metallurgical test work and labs
  • Project and engineering design experience including managing deliverables and schedules assigned to engineering companies
  • Ability to understand and efficiently carry out written and oral instructions including the interpretation of engineering drawings
  • Good understanding of project costing and budgeting
  • Good report writing skills
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point) and Microsoft Project
  • Have valid driver's license
  • Thorough knowledge of occupational hazards within the mining industry
  • Superior work ethic, be able to effectively communicate with all staff and display a high degree of respect to the local people and their culture

Martabe Gold Mine is managed and operated by PT Agincourt Resources. The mine covers an area of 30 km² that falls under the sixth generation of Contract of Work (CoW) covering a total area of 1,639 km² The resource base on 31 December 2017 includes 8.8 Moz of gold and 72 Moz of silver. Production commenced at Martabe on 24 July 2012.
