Fleet Management Manager - Mining Background - East Indonesia

The position targets to lead the national management strategy related to their truck fleet, heavy mobile equipment and motor vehicle fleet

Client Details

Our client is a leading mining company. A well respected player boasting a strong track record historically, they are a premium brand in the industry. Consequently, they are looking to bring on board a Fleet Management Manager who can assist the business at a time of rapid growth and make a key contribution to the business


  • Planning, leasing, guiding and implementing strategy for the purchase, maintenance and servicing of the truck fleet, heavy mobile equipment and motor vehicle fleet
  • To reduce fleet operating costs without reducing response time
  • Develop effective mentoring and coaching processes to ensure that individuals and teams are able to implement and support the organisation's continuous improvement processes
  • Responsible for the entire life cycle of all fleet assets
  • Central point of contact with the vehicle suppliers and provides support to branches and manufacturing plants
  • Identifies areas for further improvement when undertaking future planning
  • Oversee monthly compliance and maintenance budget
  • Undertake negotiation for budgets and financial plans with relevant groups and individuals in ways that build commitment to the plans
  • Review cost management issues and identify improvements
  • May propose new procedure to ensure effective and efficient Fleet Management
  • Establishes systems to ensure that the organisation's continuous improvement processes are communicated to all stakeholders


  • Minimum 7 - 10 years of working experience in the mobile fleet management within an international environment with demonstrated ability in leading an effective and high-performing team
  • Require to work on a mining and construction site in East Indonesia
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain & Logistics, Business, or Management, or other related field; or a combination of education and other relevant experience
  • Proven ability to manage functions and activities related to the procurement, servicing, operation, maintenance, and repair of vehicles
  • Competencies required: leadership skills, dealing with ambiguity, adapting to change, priority setting, collaboration, influential, innovative, simplicity
  • Knowledgeable of the practices and procedures involved in researching, comparing, and purchasing vehicles, equipment, and supplies
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to interact effectively with all stakeholders
  • Proficient knowledge of OSHA regulations to establish safety policies and procedures for fleet service operations
  • Require to be on call on a 24 hours 365 days
  • Strong written and spoken communication skills in both local and English languages
  • Proven knowledge of DOT regulations, governing the use of commercial vehicles, as well as strong mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of vehicle systems, components, and design
  • Proven track record in strategic agility and operational excellence
