Logistics Director - Huge Organization

This role is responsible for developing item level data to leverage historical demand to forecast needs and improve supplier readiness. In addition to planning, logistics planning and order tracking are key responsibilities of this role. It' expected that succesful candidate will develop the initial process which will likely be manual, and develop the strategy for improved order visibility and logistics management.

Our client is a huge organization. Due to their expansion plan, they are looking to recruit for a Logistics Director to be part of their Senior Management Team.


  • Develop procedures to ensure we have visibility into all grants and their associated demand and supply plans
  • Collaborate with supply chain teams at all levels to improve planning execution, quality and on-going integration of demand and supply plans and procurement activities
  • Track orders from order to delivery and take action proactively to ensure flow of goods
  • Identify systemic root causes with order delays and opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Define long term strategy for optimal planning and logistics management and resource requirements including staffing, procedures and software
  • Track payment status to ensure payment are made on time to suppliers
  • Collaborate with Procurement team to escalate supplier performance issues, align on supply plans, and participate in key business review feedback
  • Identify strategic grants that require greater support and/or focus and ensure plans are developed and monitored to ensure project success
  • Manage logistics providers to ensure performance meets expectations and costs are within budget


  • Experience in a global organization operating in complex environments; ideally has planning experience in grant-funded organization
  • Experience in developing structured planning and logistics methodology and leading cross-functional teams
  • Expert knowledge of: supply chain management best practices, including demand planning, forecasting, inventory management, and supply planning
  • Minimum 13 years of planning and logistics experience
  • Must have proven project management skills and experience, excellent communication skills, the ability to analyze and resolve complex issues, and a team building work style
  • C-Level presentation skills, negotiation and relationship skills
  • Experience working directly with suppliers on supply planning and order management
